The problem
Teachers use a lot of small tools: one for exams, one for surveys, one for scanning documents, one for notices to the class. Each usually comes with its own account, its own data and its own way of doing things.
myTpen wanted the opposite: a suite that works the way Google Workspace does, where every tool shares the same account and the same data.
What I did
I lead development across the suite. All nine applications share one data layer and one auth layer, and sync as a single product.
- Marketing site. Around 20 pages built from scratch and optimized for search.
- Exams. Exam creation and management for teachers.
- Survey. An AI-powered alternative to Google Forms.
- Docr. An OCR app with a UI and a public API that outputs Markdown.
- Exams OMR Scanner. Scans OMR answer sheets. I built the backend and led the React Native development.
- Notice Board. Teachers broadcast notices to their classrooms.
- Answers. Take a photo of a question and get an AI answer.
- Text to Writing. Turns text into handwriting, and handwriting back into text with OCR.
- Data Extract. OCR text extraction from images and documents.
The result
- Nine applications shipped on shared infrastructure.
- The mobile app is live on Google Play.
- The marketing site ranks first on Google for the brand name.
